Class of 2010 Adam Adam, a senior, hails from Far Rockaway, NY. The middle of three brothers, he is the second in his family to enter the ABC program. His older brother recently graduated from A Better Chance, Wilton, CT. Adam is passionate about sports, especially basketball, playing whenever the opportunity arises. He is mechanically inclined and loves automobiles – life size and scale models. Adam has had two after school jobs: one at day care program in the local elementary school, and one at a local bike shop. Adam is the guy who is always making music: singing, rapping, drumming, and dancing. In his family, Respect is the essence of living. His funny and outgoing personality has been an asset to his transition to Masconomet. We are excited to see what Adam’s college choices will be! Class of 2011 Alex Alex, a junior, joined A Better Chance Masconomet from Bronx, NY. Alex, a native of the Dominican Republic, is bilingual in Spanish and English. Upon entering Masconomet, Alex runs cross country and participates in Cross Country and Indoor and Outdoor track. Alex excels in mathematics and has a passion for reading. Alex has an impressive course load this year filled with honors and AP courses. Alex has an older and younger sister. His witty and caring personality is an asset to his leadership qualities. Angel Angel, a junior, comes to us from New York, NY. He is an only child with a passion for baseball, sadly a die-hard Yankees fan. Angel runs cross country and does indoor track. He played on the junior varsity baseball team last spring and hope to continue this year as well. His charmed enthusiasm has been beneficial to Angel’s high school transition. Class of 2012 Ramon Ramon now a sophomore comes to us from New York, New York. Ramon has a large family falling right in the middle with four older siblings and four younger siblings. Ramon brings a passion for art, especially drawing, to the Masconomet community. Fluency in Spanish and English comes naturally to Ramon. He was one of 20 Masconomet freshmen selected to attend the Freshman Leadership Academy workshop. Ramon is in his second year of football and plays on both offensive and defensive sides of the ball. He participated in wrestling and rounds out the spring with outdoor track. Ramon achieved Honor Roll status his entire freshman year. He is adventurous always willing to try anything and even made is first ever attempt and snowboarding this past year with his host family. Andrew Andrew also now a sophomore came to the program from Worcester, MA. Andrew has six brothers and two sisters. Andrew also maintained Honor Roll status his entire freshman year. Andrew runs Cross Country and is on the winter indoor track team. Andrew switches it up in the spring and plays lacrosse. Andrew made the JV lacrosse team as a freshman despite the fact that he had never picked up a lacrosse stick before. Math and science are his strengths. Class of 2013 Joseph Joseph, our incoming freshman also comes to us from New York. Joseph does not have any siblings. Joseph has dived into the deep end and has joined the freshman football team. Daring Joseph has never played football prior to coming to Masconomet. Joseph’s quick whit and sense of humor make him a huge hit in the house, and with a wide array of new found friends at Masconomet including his two host sisters, 15 and 4, and his host brother, an eighth grader at Masconomet. Whether it’s tossing the baseball in the yard with Angel, playing pick up hoop in the driveway with Adam, or taking a dip at his host families hot tub or pool, Joseph is always ready for whatever is happening next!
