The National ABC Office has relationships with high schools all over the country in an effort to identify scholars who might be suitable for the ABC program. Potential scholars who are recommended by counselors go through rigorous testing and interviews by the national representatives and applications are then referred to the local ABC chapters based on their needs. Students typically begin this application process in September of their 8th grade year. Students are required to submit an in-depth application with supporting essays and recommendation letters to ABC National. In addition, students need to take and submit scores from a standardized test (either the SSAT or the ISEE.) ABC National refers qualified applicants to A Better Chance Member Schools like ABC-Masco. The Member Schools then review applications, and select students to come visit their program for an interview. Final admission decisions are made by member schools, not the national office. For more information about the application process, please look at the ABC National website https://abcmasconomet.clickandcms.com/www.abetterchance.org.
